Job Title   
Blue Lamp Trust Administrative Assistant

£18,258 (rising to £19,250 after successful probation period)
Option to join the company pension scheme

Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00

Purpose of Job 
To provide administrative support and assistance necessary for the smooth running of the day to day business of the Trust

Key Accountabilities 

Answering incoming calls, dealing empathetically with Bobby Scheme clients who need to book a Fitter visit and Taxi assessment candidates with enquiries.

Providing admin support to the Bobby Scheme such as diary management, arranging appointments and routes to maximise the efficiency of the service, processing incoming referrals received via email, making courtesy calls, filing, scanning and processing of completed job sheets.

Assisting the Taxi Assessment Admin Team with admin support such as processing reports and issuing letters to candidates.

Supporting the Business Administration Manager in providing general administrative support to the central office team.

Respond to and progress enquiries from the public, business & other interested parties received by letter, email or phone.

Personal Specification 

 The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a demanding office environment, be a good communicator, who can undertake a variety of clerical and administrative duties, manage their own work load effectively and work unsupervised when necessary.

Excellent telephone skills and an empathetic approach are essential in order to professionally and appropriately handle the diverse calls received from both elderly and vulnerable clients, Taxi Assessment candidates and business callers.

The applicant should be both numerate and literate with a strong working knowledge of word processing, email, spreadsheets and databases. GCSE’s grade C or above in Mathematics, English and ICT are essential.

A bright, cheerful personality with both a willingness to learn, become part of a team and to contribute their own ideas.

We require the successful applicant to be police vetted prior to the starting in the role.
